The South African National AIDS Council Trust (SANAC) is seeking an experienced theatrical production company to work with the Mens’ Sector and SANAC staff to implement an existing high quality theatre play (advocacy and awareness raising) that they have developed in the nine provinces – one per province, and a national play on the 19th November 2018 in Cape Town during the Mens’ Parliament.
The SANAC Mens’ Sector and the Department of Social Development (DSD) through the Men Championing Change programme has planned a series of social mobilisation activities that will serve as a platform to bring men from all sectors of society to join hands in addressing the social and structural drivers of HIV, TB and sexually transmitted infections. These activities will target and engage men and boys through dialogue, advocacy and, peer-to-peer education.
The purpose of the RFQ is to procure a theatre production that will be played on request during the Men Championing Change activities in particular the Provincial Mens’ Parliaments and the National Mens’ Parliaments. The play will target men and boys highlighting social ills including but not limited to HIV and AIDS, healthy seeking behaviours, gender norms, gender-based violence, mental health and host of other difficulties confronting men and boys.
The theatre production will be used a tool to educate, highlight and raise awareness on social issues confronting communities.
