SANAC is seeking proposals for the development of a 360-degree Communications Strategy.
The aim of this proposed communication strategy is to accelerate the reduction of new HIV infections through taking to scale strategic communication interventions that address the social and behavioural drivers of the epidemic.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the objectives contained in the NSP 2017 – 2022 goals:
Accelerate prevention to reduce new HIV, TB and STI infections;
Reduce morbidity and mortality by providing treatment, care and adherence support for all. T
This is a core responsibility of the Department of Health and they embarked on the Phila campaign, using creative and innovative ways to reduce the quadruple burden of disease.
This communication strategy will only support the core campaign messages of Phila to ensure that there is no duplication of campaigns;
Address underlying Social and Structural Drivers of HIV, TB and STIs through an integrated multi-sector approach; and linking it with existing programmes such as Yolo and Family Matters of the Department of Social Development.
Reach all key and vulnerable populations with customised and targeted interventions;
Protect human rights, increase access to justice and reduce stigma and discrimination;
Promote leadership and accountability for sustainable response to HIV, TB and STIs.
The SBCC strategy must scale up strategic communication interventions in support of a combination HIV and TB prevention response through addressing ideational factors (knowledge, attitudes, norms, values etc.) that in turn will impact on structural, social and behavioural outcomes. The strategy should ensure that all age groups are included with particular emphasis on youth.
SANAC hopes to leverage and celebrate significant milestones and build momentum leading up to mid- term milestone in 2019.
