SANAC BOARD OPPORTUNITY
The South African National Aids Council (SANAC) leads South Africa’s response to the national HIV and AIDS, TB & STIs epidemics. SANAC has a robust Board of Trustees who are registered through the Master of the High Court. A Vacancy has arisen that needs to be filled in line with the provision of the Trust Deed.
Name of Position: Trustee (Voluntary)
Duration: Five-Year Term (renewable)
Advert Date: 31 October 2022
Key Responsibilities of the Trustee include but are not limited to:
- Oversight of control and accountability of the Trust;
- Development of strategy and performance objectives for the Trust;
- Systems of risk management and internal compliance and control, and legal compliance;
- Monitoring management’s performance and implementation of strategies and ensuring appropriate resources are available;
- Approving and monitoring the progress of major capital expenditure, capital management and acquisitions and disinvestment;
- Approving and monitoring financial and other reporting; and
- Senior Executive succession planning.
Quality:
- To enhance skills already within the Board of Trustees we are looking for an individual specifically with ICT/ICT Governance skills. Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Degree in ICT or related qualification and experience.
- A working knowledge and experience in the TB/HIV environment will be an added advantage but is not a prerequisite.
- Familiarity with government structures, processes and key networks will be an added advantage.
- Good interpersonal skills, good planning and organizing skills.
- Willingness and the ability to engage with stakeholders when required.
- The Trustee needs to be a proactive, team player and willing be willing to travel on occasion to attend to matters concerning the Board of Trustees.
