Did you know that having an Undetectable viral load when you are taking ARV’s also stops HIV transmission?
For at least 20 years we have known that ARV’s reduces HIV transmission. But for the last few years, World Health Organization (WHO) agree that the risk is not just reduced – it is stopped completely. (Zero Risk)
ARV’s are not only good for your health but they also protect your partners from HIV transmission but this does not mean you must stop using condoms as you may get other STI’s or unwanted pregnancy.
The protection from ARV’s depends on:
-Taking ARV’s every day.
-Having undetectable viral load for at least 6 months.
-Continuing to take ARVs without missing doses.
