Purpose of the job
To ensure that a high quality and standard of general office cleanliness and assistance with
housekeeping and hygiene is met.
Key Responsibilities:
House Keeping and Hygiene services
• Ensure that all offices, boardrooms and entrances rooms are kept clean on a daily basis
• Dusting of furniture and blinds as well as cleaning of windows and doors
• Emptying of rubbish bins daily
• Periodic cleaning of the refrigerator, microwave oven, and etc.
• Use of different mops and cloths for cleaning different areas to prevent cross infection
• Cleaning of carpets periodically
• Washing of office crockery and cutlery
• Ordering of materials and equipment as the need arise.
• Tidy storerooms and documents on shelves
• Set up meeting rooms and serve refreshments and assist with catering deliveries as required
• Preparations and serving of refreshments as when there are visitors
• Clear up meeting rooms immediately after meeting is over
• Inform the supervisor well in advance, when resources are needed
General Office Duties:
• Ensure that timeous notification is given to management when stock of refreshments is running low to prevent stock outs.
• Inform the supervisor well in advance, when resources are needed.
• Ordering of groceries for the office
• Assist with photocopying of documents when requested
• Stock control and monitoring for all chemicals and materials used
• Emptying of the shredder as and when necessary
Other Duties when required:
• Assist receptionist when needed
• Answer incoming telephone calls and take messages if officials are not available.
• Welcome visitors at reception and take them to required meeting rooms / contact persons.
• Continuously add value to SANAC and perform other duties as required
Qualification, Skills and Experience
• Grade 12, Matric Certificate
• 1-2 years’ experience as a cleaner in a corporate environment
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize and multitasking
• Time management skills
• Conscientious attitude to work
• Treat all staff with respect and professionalism
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Review and assess availability of stock and request orders timeously
